DUMB MONEY

Dumb Money is the ultimate David vs. Goliath tale, based on the insane true story of everyday people who flipped the script on Wall Street and got rich by turning GameStop (yes, the mall videogame store) into the world’s hottest company. In the middle of everything is regular guy Keith Gill (Paul Dano), who starts it all by sinking his life savings into the stock and posting about it. When his social posts start blowing up, so does his life and the lives of everyone following him. As a stock tip becomes a movement, everyone gets rich – until the billionaires fight back, and both sides find their worlds turned upside down. Dumb Money also stars Pete Davidson, Vincent D’Onofrio, America Ferrera, Nick Offerman, Anthony Ramos, Sebastian Stan, Shailene Woodley and Seth Rogen. Directed by Craig Gillespie, written by Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo, based on the book “The Antisocial Network” by Ben Mezrich.

INVOLUNTARY

Involuntary, starring Jack McGee and Faith Taylor, is a short narrative film about a victim of patient dumping.

Patient dumping is a practice that occurs when a hospital or nursing home prematurely discharges a patient, often to bus stops, homeless shelters, or other hospitals. Society’s disregard for humanity in the form of human dumping from nursing homes is a terrifying reality that exists in the shadows of our society.

Many of our most vulnerable, the elderly, and, particularly the lower-income elderly, live in quiet isolation. We live in a youth-centric culture that is riddled with obvious and subtle forms of ageism and bigotry towards our elders. This systemic discrimination against older adults in our country is certainly not a new dilemma. The unspeakable treatment of many older adults is largely a result of a discriminatory and ageist belief that permeates our culture.

This prevalent and accepted ageism leaves open avenues for gross abuse and neglect towards the most vulnerable.

Richard III “Love Scene”

Over quarantine in the midsts of the Pandemic, there was some joy to be found in The Frederick Shakespeare Festival back home in Maryland where I got to perform as my favorite Shakespeare character, Richard the third. This was very special to me not only because getting to perform during this time has been a beacon of hope for myself, but getting a chance to perform such a fun scene with an all women identifying cast felt absolutely thrilling, amazing and frankly should be done more often.
